Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Department of Exercise Science and Sport Management is a growing, research active department focused on supporting student success to those enrolled in our Master of Science in Exercise Science, Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics, Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and Minor in Nutritional Science programs. With more than 10,000 square footage of state-of-the-art laboratory space, we offer a student-centered and research driven educational experience.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Sport Management in the Department of Exercise Science and Sport Management with a preferred start date of August 2025. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the Department's student-centered and research driven educational experience through maintaining a record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals while also supporting student success through undergraduate and graduate course instruction in sport management.
  • Candidates are expected to contribute to departmental, college, university and professional service.
  • Candidates are expected to instruct various sport management courses in a face to face, online and/or hybrid format.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
  • An earned doctorate, or the foreign equivalent, in sport management or a related field. The degree must be earned by start date.
  • Evidence of scholarship/creative activities.
  • Record of prior teaching experience in sport management at the undergraduate level.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching on-line and /or hybrid courses.
