DESCRIPTION


Mendocino-Lake Community College District is currently accepting applications for a Professional Expert, seasonal Men's Soccer Assistant Coach.

This is a temporary, non-continuing position, August 2024 - December 2024. This position will remain open until filled.

Under direction of the Athletic Director and Head Coach, assists the Head Coach in the supervision, organization, and instruction of the sport.

Salary and Benefits

This is a Professional Expert, temporary, hourly position, hours will vary per week (8/2024 - 12/2024), $17.00 per hour; Ed Code 88003 authorizes a governing board to hire STNC employees for less than 75% of a school year, up to 180 days.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES


The successful candidate will support institutional and student success by executing the following duties:

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Assists the Head Coach in coaching the sport
  • Assists with recruiting and matriculation of student-athletes
  • May assist with developing travel schedules and itineraries, budget management, equipment maintenance, statistics, and completion of student eligibility forms

Working Conditions

Indoor and outdoor environment; may work evenings and weekends, including travel; loud environment.

QUALIFICATIONS


Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check and completion of TB test.

Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, geographic, and ethnic backgrounds of students, staff, and faculty.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:
This classification requires the use of a personal vehicle while conducting District business. Must possess a valid (Class C)California Driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Assigned sport; principles of coaching, recruiting and matriculation of student athletes; community college mission.

ABILITY TO:

Assist in coaching the assigned sport; assist with recruiting and matriculation activities; promote student and team success; positively represent the college to the public; plan and organize activities; work within a budget and college regulations; maintain accurate records; work cooperatively with others; communicate effectively; travel with the team; and work variable locations and hours, including evenings and weekends.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT(Prior to beginning employment)

  • Must be fingerprinted through DOJ and FBI and have background clearance; and Must take a TB test (once hired and every four years thereafter).
  • Within 6 months of employment, must complete required District trainings such as Sexual Harassment Prevention.
